How to print your wedding invitations
Printing at home: use a heavy matte cardstock — 110 lb (about 300 gsm) or heavier is what gives an invitation its weight in the hand. In your print dialog, choose borderless, set quality to best or photo, and make sure scaling is at 100% so the design isn't shrunk to fit a margin.
Using a print shop: upload the same PNG and ask for 5x7 prints on matte or cotton cardstock. Because the file is 300 DPI, it will hold up at full size without softening — the same resolution commercial stationery is printed at.
Envelopes: a 5x7 invitation fits a standard A7 envelope (5.25 x 7.25 inches), which is the most widely stocked wedding envelope size.
