Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Every Piece of Us collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and plain. If anything below is unclear, email support@everypieceofus.com and we'll explain.

What we collect

From you (the couple) at signup and onboarding:

• Email address and password (hashed; we never see it).
• Partner names, wedding date, venue location, estimated guest count.
• Shipping address and phone number (for printed-book delivery).
• Cover finish preference (matte or glossy).

From your guests when they contribute to your book or your live wall:

• Photos, written notes, voice memos, and short videos they choose to share.
• The name they type in (no account required for guests).
• For the Live Wall: the photo they capture with their phone camera at the venue (our upload form blocks camera-roll selection — guests can only share moments they shoot in the moment).

From Stripe at checkout: the last four digits of the payment method, the country, and a transaction reference. We never see or store full card numbers — that all stays inside Stripe.

The surprise mandate (Book)

For the printed Book product, the couple cannot view contribution contentuntil after the wedding. This isn't a promise — it's enforced at the database layer through row-level security policies. The only authenticated role that can read contributions is the curator the couple invites. The couple sees aggregate counts only (if they opt in to progress metrics) until the printed hardcover ships.

Live Wall content

Live Wall posts are intentionally public to anyone with the event URL — the wall is meant to play on a venue projector and the digital gallery is meant to be shared. There is no curator approval step; whatever a guest captures appears on the wall. Live Wall photos are stored in a public bucket; the slideshow, gallery, and downloads all reference the same direct URL.

Retention

• Live Wall photos and postsare automatically deleted twelve (12) months after your wedding date. This window is set on each upload at the moment it's submitted.
• Book contributions are retained until the printed hardcover has been delivered, then kept indefinitely tied to the order record for warranty/reprint purposes. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
• Account information and order records (signup email, wedding details, shipping address, Stripe transaction references) are retained while your account is active and for up to seven years after to comply with financial and tax recordkeeping obligations.
• Payment data is retained by Stripe under their own policy; we hold only the references we need to reconcile orders.

Subprocessors

We don't sell your data. We use third-party services to operate the product and share only what each one needs:

• Supabase — database, file storage, authentication. Hosts the rows and files described above.
• Stripe — payment processing for the Book, Bundle, and Live Wall SKUs. Receives the amount and currency for the charge; we receive a payment intent reference back.
• Loops— transactional email (account confirmations, contribution invitations, “your book has shipped” and “your book has been delivered” notifications). Receives the recipient email and template variables (e.g. partner names, tracking URL).
• Lulu — on-demand printing and shipping for the hardcover Book. Receives the rendered PDF, shipping address, and an order reference. Lulu handles fulfillment through its carriers (USPS / UPS / FedEx).
• Vercel — application hosting and edge network. Sees standard request metadata (IP, user agent) for serving pages and detecting abuse.

Your rights

You can request access to the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We honor these requests within thirty days. Deletion is final — book contributions and live wall posts cannot be recovered after removal. To make a request, email support@everypieceofus.com from the address on your account.

If you're in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA (data portability, right to object, right to non-discrimination). Same email reaches us.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time by emailing support@everypieceofus.com. Account deletion removes your login credentials, wedding details, and any contributions or live wall posts that haven't already been printed/delivered. Order records and financial references are retained per the retention policy above.

Children

Every Piece of Us is not directed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has uploaded to a Live Wall in a way that should be removed, email us and we'll take it down.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy materially, we'll bump the “Last updated” date at the top and notify active account holders by email before the change takes effect.
